At a time of increasing polarisation, geopolitical tensions and growing global challenges, the question arises: how do we stay connected? During this one-day symposium, organised by VAIGO (Association for Physicians in Training to become International Healthcare Physicians), we explore what international connectedness means in the context of health and healthcare.
Is division inevitable, or rather an invitation to build new bridges? Do we choose retreat and hardening, or dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding? And what role can we as healthcare professionals play in this - locally and globally?
During the day, we will address themes such as climate and health, geopolitics and solidarity, technological developments and global inequality. With inspiring speakers and space for reflection and meeting, we will bring together people interested in global health, planetary health and international cooperation, both within the Netherlands and abroad.
This symposium is relevant to healthcare professionals, doctors (in training), students and others interested in global health and international health issues.
Together, we explore what connects us - and how to strengthen that connection in an ever-changing world.
