The Netherlands Society for Global Health (NSGH, formerly NVTG) is launching today Global Health Perspectives – an online platform for sharing knowledge, experiences and reflections in the field of global health. The platform can now be visited at www.globalhealthperspectives.com and is the successor to the Medicus Tropicus Bulletin (MTb), which was published for over sixty years.
In the opening article on the platform, the editorial team reflects on this transition. Global Health Perspectives builds on the rich history of MTb, but is better aligned with changes in the field – from tropical medicine to broad global health themes, and from a printed journal to a digital, interactive platform. The new platform aims to provide space for diverse perspectives and contribute to open, inclusive knowledge sharing.
A shared place for learning and sharing
Global Health Perspectives is an initiative of the NSGH, developed in collaboration with the Knowledge Centre for Global Health (KCGH) and the Training Institute for Global Health Professionals (OIGT). The platform offers space for a variety of contributions: articles, interviews, opinions, reports and visual stories.
The first contributions cover topics such as gender bias in healthcare and the symposium. Colonial Past & Global Health, and topics such as climate change, migration, and community-based care. The editorial team invites everyone in the field to contribute — from students to experienced professionals.
