How do Doctors for International Health Care (AIG) contribute to the challenges facing the Dutch healthcare system? Given the increasing demand for care, ageing population and health inequalities, this question is more relevant than ever. That is why the Training Institute for International Health Care and Tropical Medicine (OIGT), the Global Health Knowledge Centre (KCGH) and the Netherlands’ Society for Global Health (NSGH) jointly conducted a study into the career and impact of AIGs on Dutch healthcare.
This study focuses on doctors who have started their AIG training. from 1 January 2014. Via a short survey (15–20 minutes) examines how alumni apply their international knowledge in their careers and what contribution they make at home or abroad.
🎯 Objective: Gaining insight into the impact of the AIG training programme on careers and the Dutch healthcare system.
The results will be used to formulate policy recommendations and to make the AIG training programme future-proof.
